been there, done that

I am laying here watching the news on t.v. about that super storm that Sandy has become. To me it looked just like Katrina. I had just picked up a load out of the panhandle of Florida and was on I-10. As I got closer to Mississippi, I was told via the CB that we were being sent north to I-40. For me that was a long way out of the way as I was heading for San Francisco with a trailer for the Golf tournament out there on that weekend.
I couldn't see that there was much in the way of rain or wind before they directed me on to the Northbound

I was not happy that I had to go so far out of route, as it was going to cost me more in money to go that way. I was really mad. I was letting anyone who came any where close to me how I felt. I would 'cuss and rave' over the CB and at any truck stops as I traveled. Then I made a mistake and bent the supports to the tongue of the trailer I was pulling. (Oh, this was not a Big Truck I was driving, I was driving a dual wheeled pick up truck, pulling a portal outhouse,) I had been driving this truck for almost 6 months now. I had retired from driving big rigs. I made it alright, with no other damage and dropped at the Tournament.
I look at this and can see how where a seeker comes from. A life that has had it's ups and downs. One that he/she have tried to run by themselves. Now they finally realize that God allows U-turns. They finally have a guide for their life and are now looking for more information. If that fits you leave me a comment and I will talk with you and help you along the way. I have been there and done exactly what you have done. But I made that U- turn that God allows. Let me tell you about Him.

good to be back
It is good to be back and able to post again. I have been in the hospital and have just this past month been released to come home to
recuperate and learn to get on with my life. That is not going to be an
easy thing to do. You see, my reason for the hospital stay was because I
needed surgery...major, major.... But I will write more about that later
on. Just know that it is good to be back in front of my computer. Later all.

Birth Mother
I am sorry that it has taken me so long to post another message, but a lot has been happening in our lives.  Our oldest son was diagnosed with luekemia and we have been taken care of their little boy durin the day while they work and he goes through chemo treatments.  As to that, he is doing just great,.  He is now on an out patient schedule and they are actually using arsenic for his treatment.  The doctor told him that the drug they had been using was not available for at least the next 6 months nation wide.  Anyway he is doing just fine.

Now about my birth mother.  I have to start at the beginning.  I was born in 1942, and adopted in 1946.  I was told about it around the time I was going into high school.  I was told that they could not handle any children and that I was put in the local orphanage.  My mother told me that they had to find my Father to get him to the courthouse to sign the papers.  I was taken by the house where I had lived and my mother told me that " if I ever did find my real parents, I might not like what I found."  Well, I have been searching real hard for the last 40 years and sort of for the 10 years before that.  Any way, I posted on almost three years ago and then forgot about it untio two months ago.  I happened to find another post that said we could possibly be related.  Well I wrote an e-mail to that person and guess what?  It turns out that we had the same father.  So I have found at least 6 half siblings.  It has been great exchanging information and pictures.  I have also recently found my birth mother's family.  My mother passed away.  Dad passed away in 1998.  Anyway, I have found out more about my life in the last two months than all the years before.
In case you are curious, yes, some of the information I found out, I don't like. but that is o.k. too

Well, more about me later.

Writer's Block: Talk of the town
If you were given your own talk show, who would your first guest be, and why?

My Birth Mother.  I would like to know why she had to put me in an orphanage and if she loved me and did I have any other siblings.

Writer's Block: Globetrotting
I would have to say Hawaii.  I have never been there and would like to before I am not able to travel any more.

Writer's Block: Born this way
If you were a cross-breed between two animals, what animals would they be, and why?

Big Foot and a Mountain Gorilla  The only two that are close in size.

Writer's Block: Going boldly
I probably would be Mr. Spock.  I am the one in our family to look at things from all sides before making a decision.

Back again
Well, all if you are wondering what happened to me it was very simple, I was in the hospital for a round of major surgery. I am back at home for now. Hopefully there will not be any more surgery, this one was bad enough. Suffice it to say that, I went in walking and I came out in a wheelchair. which will be my mode of transportation from now on.

I will try to give you a more in-depth on the surgery in the upcoming weeks. For now, it just feels good to be out and at home.

Writer's Block: I wanna be just like you
Was there ever a fictional character who you admired so much that you strived to be like him or her?

I always wanted to be either The Lone Ranger or the Shadow.
